Dog Walking
At Landhai we have established a dog walking service which overcomes the downsides of a traditional dog walk and is truely focused on the wellbeing of each and every dog.
All our enrichment activities take place either on our secure training site, allowing us to safely exercise dogs off leash, or on private agricultural land where dogs are walked individually on leash. We do not walk dogs in groups, where they can’t get the one to one attention ensuring the activities are truely enriching. Nor do we use public spaces as we have no control over the actions of others and therefore can’t ensure your dog enjoys their experience.
We offer three different interactive sessions for your dog.
Enrichment Walks
These fun 1 to 1 sessions are split into two of the following activities:
- High energy 1 to 1 play
- Free play
- Scent games
- Brain games
- Exploration walk
Training Walks
Training walks include one exercise activity and a specific training session planned with you. Before starting a block of training walks we will agree a training plan with you that meets the specific needs for your dog. We are happy to train new behaviours from scratch or work to reinforce what you are already working on.
Our plan will include one of strength and conditioning, endurance, rehabilitation or fitness maintenance. It also details the agreed training activities to be delivered to help enhance your own training plan.
Behaviour Walks
Behavioural walks are only available if you and your dog regularly attend behaviour adjustment training.
They offer an excellent option for this work to continue in your absence. Our behaviour walks provide appropriate enrichment for your dog and avoid any potential setbacks from your dog being walked in an uncontrolled environment. Where appropriate we may work with more than one dog at a time if it suits the training plan.
All these activities are much more involved, interesting and tiring for your dog than simply walking around a park, so we provide a comfy space to rest up between activites. We collect and return your dog in our specially fitted out van, so expect your dog to be away from the house for a couple of hours and although we don’t offer doggie day care we can agree extended enrichment sessions which would provide a substantial day out for your dog.
